“TAD50 series delivers 50W continuous output power,” according to distributor Lusso, which is stocking the parts. “In addition, a peak power function is available that enables the power supply to deliver up to 140% of rated output power for 5s.”
The universal input covers 85 – 264Vac and 120 – 370Vdc, and versions are available with outputs of 5 (40W only), 7.5, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24, 36, 48 or 53Vdc – adjustable over ±10% or -20% +10% depending on version. Peak power is 70W except for 5V (56W) and 7.5V (65W) versions.
Operation is from -40°C, and full output is available with convection cooling up to 55°C (60°C at 230V) after which linear de-rating (or forced airflow) is required down to 30W at 85°C, which is the maximum operating temperature.
No-load consumption is 50mW, and output hold-up time is 15ms at full load (115Vac in). Input in-rush can be as high as 60A, and there is an internal T3.15A/250VAC front-end fuse.
Other protections are against output short-circuit (continuous, automatic recovery), over-load (hiccough, automatic recovery) and output over-voltage (latch mode).
The PSUs have 3kVac/1min reinforced input-output insulation, category OVC III over-voltage, and a ceiling of 5,000m.
EMC filtering to EN 55032 Class B is included for conducted and radiated emission, and they are approved to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 for ac and dc inputs.
Warranty is three years.
Lusso expectes them to find use in of industrial applications where both ac and dc inputs are required, for example: audio, video, information and communication equipment.
